Three years ago my Mother developed a detached retina and was sent to her local hospital on a Saturday afternoon.  They decided she needed surgery but could not do it until the following week.  After a quick phone call, she was required to attend Moorfields the next day at 7:30 and was operated on that morning and home by lunchtime.  The care was brilliant and knowledge was second to none.  She has since returned for cataract surgery for both eyes and some after care post-operative complications.  My Mother wishes is was a little nearer to home!  A friend of my parents also had a similiar story and was treated by Moorfields.  This is the second year that both my Husband (Daniel) and I will have completed the 14 mile walk.  Last year was our first 14 mile walk and, despite it being tough, we thought we would complete the walk again!  This is our way of showing our support and appreciation, for all the hard work Moorfields do on a daily basis.  Any money you are able to donate, is very much appreciated and, will go to a fantastic cause!
